Formula 1 is back in the United States this weekend at the popular Circuit of the Americas, Austin, Texas, with Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton set to renew their title battle.

F1 has been a pretty regular presence in the States over the years but different tracks have had different levels of success in terms of helping the sport gain popularity across the pond, especially when they have their own elite-level motorsports in NASCAR and IndyCar respectively.

It does appear, though, that F1 is getting a decent footing in the US, now, with the race in Austin a well-established fixture on the calendar and a debut being made in Miami from next season, adding a second US-based race to the schedule.

Things might not stop there, either, with Italian publication Autosprint claiming that Las Vegas could host a third race in the country from as early as 2023, with them going on to claim that representatives for the potential Grand Prix are set to meet Formula 1 officials this very weekend in Texas.

It wouldn't be the first time the sport has ventured to Vegas, either, with the Caesars Palace Grand Prix taking place in the early 80s - though it never really got enough traction to earn a more long-term spot.

That'll be something Vegas will look to change if it does get a place on the calendar in the future, then, with it clear F1 is still looking to add races where it can over the coming years.
