Martin Brundle has said that this year's title fight between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen will go down to the wire with several more twists and turns yet to come in the final six races.

Formula 1 is set to take in the Americas and the Middle East in the final Grands Prix of the year and we are still none the wiser as to who is going to be our Drivers' champion, nor do we really know which team is going to take the Constructors' crown.

It's been a brilliant season, then, with momentum shifting regularly between the main protagonists, and Brundle believes there's still plenty of drama to come with it potentially set to all come down to the odd point when the dust settles in Abu Dhabi in mid-December.

"There are so many points and so many turning points to come in this championship, I don't have a clue who's going to win it," Brundle told Sky Sports.

"It's literally going to hang on a half a chance here, a bit of a scuffle out on the race track, reliability, sneaking a fastest lap in at the end of the race, or maybe losing a fastest lap if someone else punches in a quick lap.

"It's going to be that close between these two great teams and great drivers.”

It's been a vintage campaign and one that has brought the sport alive - something much needed after the difficulties of the pandemic and also the rather predictable nature, at times, of much of the turbo-hybrid era with Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes firmly in charge.

Whoever wins it this season will have thoroughly deserved it as it has been a mammoth campaign, and hopefully it really does go down to the final race - that is what this particular year merits.
