Xavier Woods has revealed that his match with Finn Balor in the WWE King of the Ring final at Crown Jewel is the single "most important" match of his life.

The New Day member has fought his way into the final, having beaten Ricochet in the first round of the tournament, and then Jinder Mahal in the semi-finals on Raw.

Xavier has updated his Twitter profile throughout his run, and his current name on the site reads "Austin #HailKingWoods - Future King of The Ring".

His campaigning throughout the tournament has seen him build up a groundswell of fan support, and he now faces Balor in the final.

Finn Balor came through the SmackDown side of the bracket and has beaten both Cesaro and Sami Zayn to punch his ticket to Saudi Arabia.

Balor, himself, could also be regarded as a babyface, so it will be two fan favourites colliding, and Woods has penned an emotional message on Twitter ahead of Crown Jewel.

Writing on the website, he said:

"My entire career I’ve been told to tone it down, don’t be my FULL self. I’m too ridiculous, I don’t fit in. Just be like everyone else. Don’t think outside the box. Tonight, I have a chance to show all of those people they were wrong.

"This is the most important match of my life."

Xavier will hope to join both Kofi Kingston and Big E, his New Day stablemates, in having a crowning moment, after Kofi won the WWE Championship at WrestleMania in 2019, and Big E won the same title from Bobby Lashley earlier this year.

Woods, of course, is a highly decorated member of the WWE roster, but he has never won a singles title. He has been a four-time Raw Tag Team Champion and a seven-time SmackDown Tag Team Champion throughout his time on the main roster.

Crown Jewel takes place on Thursday and will air on the WWE Network in the UK.
