Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge fears that Tottenham could be in for another tough night when they travel to Vitesse this evening after Nuno Espirito Santo revealed that he's taking a second-string team to Holland.

With Spurs travelling to West Ham on Sunday, the Portuguese boss has picked a very weakened squad for the group stage tie, leaving both Heung Min Son and Harry Kane at home, although the likes of Harry Winks, Steven Bergwijn and Dele Alli are likely to feature.

What squad has Nuno chosen?

With the game in Holland coming either side of Premier League visits to Newcastle and West Ham, which are of far more importance, the Tottenham manager have decided to not even risk any of his regular starters ahead of a hectic schedule in the coming weeks, where Spurs are also in Carabao Cup action.

In fact, Nuno confirmed in yesterday's press conference that none of the outfield players that started the 3-2 victory at St James' Park will be involved and will remain at Hotspur Way to prepare for the trip to the Hammers.

It's still expected to be a pretty strong team from Tottenham, who're likely to line up with nine full internationals, Japhet Tanganga and 17-year-old Dane Scarlett the exceptions.

Spurs are winless in their two European away games this season, suffering a 1-0 defeat to Pacos de Ferreira in the play-off round before drawing 2-2 with Rennes in their group stage opener last month.

And Bridge reckons that the Londoners could be in for another difficult 90 minutes against Vitesse.

What did Bridge say?

He told GIVEMESPORT: "He's announced that he's going to team a reserve team to Holland, which is fine, but they usually end up being really bad performances."

Could it prove a mistake by Nuno?

With a Carabao Cup tie at Burnley to come on Wednesday, the Conference League is comfortably at the bottom of Nuno's priority list at present. And with the team finally hitting form following those three consecutive London derby defeats, protecting his best players is a smart move.

Even if Spurs are beaten tonight, it shouldn't change too much ahead of West Ham on Sunday, whilst with two home games still to come in this competition, they should still get through quite easily.
