Leeds United are weighing up a January move for promising Shrewsbury Town striker Terry Gornell according to

The 21-year-old has become an instant hit since joining the Shrews from Accrington Stanley in the summer.

His fine form is said to have alerted the attention of a number of clubs in the Football League.

With four goals to his name already this term, Gornell has helped Shrewsbury up to fourth place in Npower League Two, and Leeds boss Simon Grayson has sent scouts to run the rule over the player with a view to bringing him to Elland Road.

Leeds currently sit seventh in the Npower Championship, just outside the play-offs, and Grayson is looking to strengthen his attacking options with a view to revitalising their charge for promotion.

Gornell has never played in a higher division than League One, but would welcome the opportunity to test himself in the second-tier with a club looking for a return to the Barclays Premier League.
