Cole, Neville, Alexander-Arnold: Who is the Premier League's greatest ever full-back?

Ashley Cole, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Patrice Evra

Trent Alexander-Arnold has been incredible in his short career in professional football.

The right-back burst onto the scene in 2016, making his Liverpool debut at the age of just 18.

Fast forward five years and Alexander-Arnold is now one of the best full-backs in the world.

He’s made 187 appearances for Liverpool, scoring 10 times, while he’s also featured 14 times for England.

He was a major part of the Liverpool teams that won the Champions League in 2019 and the Premier League in the following year.

Alexander-Arnold has achieved so much in his five years in professional football.

He’s been so successful that both Alan Shearer and Micah Richards consider him to be among the very best full-backs to have played in the Premier League.

Shearer has gone with United legend Irwin in second, while Richards has gone with Neville.

The duo both agree that Alexander-Arnold is the third greatest full-back in Premier League history.

That just goes to show how good the Liverpool star has been during his short career in football.

Elsewhere, Shearer thinks Robertson is a greater full-back than Evra, while Richards just gives the edge to Walker over Robertson.

Shearer thinks that Richards is the 10th greatest full-back in Premier League history, an assessment that the former Man City player agreed with.
