Inter Milan defender Cristian Chivu has yet to hear anything from Liverpool or Manchester City regarding their reported interest in his signature.

Chivu's contract at the San Siro expires next summer and, as of yet, the Romanian has not started negotiations with Inter regarding a new deal.

Should this remain the case, the 31-year-old will be permitted to talk to potential suitors as of January - two of whom are reported to be Liverpool and City.

But, says the player's agent, Liverpool and City have not been in contact so far.

"Manchester City or Liverpool's interest? We have not heard from any team: with Inter we'll wait until December, then if we do not receive any proposals from them, we'll listen to others," Victor Becali told

"I'm sure we'll find a team for Cristian."

Liverpool, meanwhile, are also said to be pursuing Bruno Alves and Brazilian starlet Lucas as Kenny Dalglish makes plans for the January transfer window.
