There is something very satisfying about watching a UFC fighter battling back from serious adversity to win a fight.
So often you see fighters bite down on their gumshields and swing for the fences in an attempt to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.
Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, but when it does there's no feeling quite like it.
So without further ado, here are the 10 greatest comebacks in UFC history ranked from worst to best...
10. Georges St-Pierre vs BJ Penn
In 2006, Georges St-Pierre and BJ Penn were two of the biggest stars in the sport and they produced a classic, too, which they then repeated again several years later.
9. Holly Holm vs Miesha Tate
Fresh off her victory over Ronda Rousey at UFC 193, Holly Holm was on top of the world. But she was brought crashing back down to reality after being submitted by Miesha Tate.
Holm looked visibly exhausted by the end of the fourth round and once Tate grabbed her neck she didn't let go.
8. Frankie Edgar vs Gray Maynard 3
The first of two entries on this list, Frankie Edgar and Gray Maynard participated in one of the greatest trilogy fights of all time, a fight eventually won by Edgar, who successfully defended his UFC lightweight title for the second time. The only trouble is the second one was even better than the third, but more on that later.
7. Derrick Lewis vs Alexander Volkov
"My balls was hot." Those were the first words Derrick Lewis uttered after knocking out Alexander Volkov at UFC 229 in October 2018.
The Black Beast took a bit of a shellacking, but with 11 seconds left on the clock, he unleashed a bomb of a right hand to end the fight.
6. Frank Mir vs Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira 2
Frank Mir surprised everybody including himself when he submitted Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira in the first round of their heavyweight bout, which was deemed 'Submission of the Night'.
'Big Nog' suffered the first submission loss of his career while Mir improved his record to 16–5 overall.

5. Brock Lesnar vs Shane Carwin
This fight was fun for as long as it lasted as the two warriors laid it all on the line. The underdog Carwin was able to keep the fight standing and punished Lesnar on the feet in the first round.
At the start of the second round it looked like it would be more of the same, but the Beast Incarnate had other plans. After eating a big right Brock managed to grab hold of his opponent and score a crucial takedown. When Carwin left his neck exposed Lesnar sank in an arm triangle choke to force the tap at 2:19 of the second round.
4. Frankie Edgar vs Gray Maynard 2
The second fight between Edgar and Maynard ended in a split draw, with the scorecards 48–46 for Edgar, the same again for Maynard, and the other 47–47.
3. Pat Barry vs Cheick Kongo
"That was unbelievable, I have never seen anything like that in my life," Joe Rogan screamed into his microphone moments after Pat Barry was sent to the Shadow Realm after being starched by Cheick Kongo.
2. Matt Hughes vs Frank Trigg 2
UFC president Dana White has watched a lot of fights, but for him nothing compares to the rematch between Matt Hughes and Frank Trigg. The first fight was a typically scrappy affair, the second was the stuff of legends.
"Matt Hughes vs Trigg II is my favourite fight ever," he told the UFC. "When I say my favourite fight ever, I mean MMA, boxing - it's my favourite fight."
1. Anderson Silva vs Chael Sonnen
It didn't take long for Anderson Silva to face adversity against Chael Sonnen, but somehow he pulled out the ultimate Hail Mary late in the final round.
Silva (34-11, 1 NC) submitted Sonnen (31-17, 1 NC) with over a minute left in the fifth round, even though Sonnen had the majority of success in the frame. After working hard for a triangle choke, Silva forced a tap to get the finish.
