Beyoncé fans have voiced their excitement after the pop icon shared a preview of her new song “Be Alive” which will feature in the forthcoming Serena and Venus Williams biopic.

The movie, titled “King Richard”, follows the life of the tennis icons’ father, Richard, who was instrumental in raising two of the most extraordinarily gifted athletes of all time.

Will Smith plays Richard in the title role, while Saniyya Sidney and Demi Singleton also star as the Williams sisters.

King Richard focuses on the upbringing of Serena and Venus and their journey to global tennis stardom.

Venus is a former world number one and has won seven Grand Slam titles during her career so far.

Similarly, Serena has also been ranked first in the rankings and has won 23 major singles titles in total –– putting her second behind Margaret Court on the all-time list.

Aside from a star-studded cast, the film also has an epic soundtrack, including what promises to be a hit single from Beyoncé.

Last month, the former Destiny’s Child singer revealed she had been working on new solo music for the last 18 months. In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, she revealed her new material aims to help fans find a sense of escape from the pandemic.

“With all the isolation and injustice over the past year, I think we are all ready to escape, travel, love, and laugh again,” she said. “I feel a renaissance emerging, and I want to be part of nurturing that escape in any way possible. I’ve been in the studio for a year and a half.”

Beyoncé’s new song “Be Alive” is yet to be released in full yet, but the first snippet of the track can be heard in the “King Richard” trailer.

And fans have already jumped to praise the 40-year-old, with some suggesting the ‘Queen B’ is in line for an Oscar nomination.

“Beyoncé is snatching that Oscar for best original song,” wrote one fan.

Another stated: “The Queen is back and sounding better than ever. Omg I cannot wait to listen to this song.”

The film was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic but will be released in theatres in the US and the UK on November 19th this year.
