Sky Sports journalist Michael Bridge has tipped new Watford boss Claudio Ranieri to be sacked before the end of the season.

Ranieri was appointed as the Hornets' head coach last week, with the Italian penning a two-year deal.

What's the latest news involving Ranieri?

Watford's owners opted to make a change in the dugout, with Xisco Munoz sacked after less than 10 months at the helm.

The 41-year-old guided the Hornets into the top flight after sealing promotion from the Championship, but he was only able to guide his side to two wins from the first seven matches of the season.

Although Ranieri was drafted in as the Watford hierarchy looked to ensure the club fends off an immediate relegation to the second tier, his reign got off to the worst possible start thanks to a 5-0 home defeat to Liverpool last weekend.

As a result, the Hornets have been condemned to five Premier League defeats heading into today's trip to Goodison Park as they face Everton.

Speaking ahead of the clash, Ranieri has called on his players to produce a 'true Watford' performance as they look to bounce back from a heavy loss to Everton's Merseyside rivals.

What has Michael Bridge said about Ranieri?

Watford are in the midst of a difficult run of fixtures, with Arsenal, Manchester United, Leicester City, Chelsea and Manchester City all on the horizon.

Bridge does not have high hopes for Ranieri following his appointment.

The Sky Sports journalist even goes as far as to suggest Ranieri will not remain in the Vicarage Road dugout until the season reaches its climax in May.

He believes he will become the latest managerial casualty in the not-too-distant future.

Bridge told GIVEMESPORT: "I think Ranieri will get sacked in the season."

Why could Ranieri prove to be a good appointment?

One of the most unforgettable moments of the Premier League era came when Ranieri, against all odds, led Leicester City to the Premier League title five years ago.

He also won silverware during his time in charge of Valencia, Fiorentina and Cagliari, but it is unlikely that he will be lifting trophies with the Hornets any time soon.

The 70-year-old boasts an abundance of experience having been in the dugout a whopping 1,221 times since his managerial career got underway.

Having also bossed Chelsea and Fulham in the English top flight, he took over at Watford with 107 Premier League wins under his belt.
