Arsenal got back to winning ways against Aston Villa on the Friday Night Football.

Mikel Arteta's side secured a 3-1 victory at the Emirates Stadium thanks to goals from Thomas Partey, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Emile Smith Rowe.

Villa pulled one back late on through youth product Jacob Ramsey, but that proved to be simply a consolation for Dean Smith's side.

The overall display from Arsenal was one of the best since Arteta took charge around two years ago.

All over the park, the home side's players worked tirelessly and there were a number of standout performers on the night.

Smith Rowe was named Man of the Match for notching a goal and an assist, while Alexandre Lacazette was praised for his all-action display up top.

There was also yet another classy outing by Benjamin White, who's finally starting to look like a £50 million centre-back.

The former Brighton man was a rock in defence throughout the game and he also contributed heavily to Arsenal's attack.

White's passing was crisp and penetrative, with Villa unable to prevent him from kickstarting passages of play from deep.

And in the first half, the England international took on the form of a prime Franz Beckenbauer to leave a number of opposing players trailing in his wake.

The 24-year-old went on a run that covered nearly three-quarters of the pitch and Villa just couldn't get near the silky defender.

Sublime stuff.

White just looks so composed on the ball, something that's further highlighted in footage of his individual highlights from the victory over Villa - which you can check out below.

If you're an Arsenal fan, that video simply has to fill you with excitement.

The Gunners are not going to compete with the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City for quite a while, but there are finally some very promising signs from the team.

White's performances since his nightmare debut versus Brentford are certainly one of them and who knows, in the coming years the Englishman's transfer fee may be viewed as a 'bargain'.
