Mayweather, Pacquiao, Ali: The greatest boxer of all time according to BoxRec

Floyd Mayweather, the undefeated American welterweight champion, was recently deemed the greatest of all time.

Despite being referred to as the most defensive boxer in boxing history, the 44-year-old retired boxer had an illustrious career spanning 21 years, where he remained unbeaten with a score of 50-0.

Along with his defensive skills, his accuracy was also notable, as he was considered one of the most accurate punchers in boxing since the induction of the well-known CompuBox system.

Outside the ring, he was considered one of the most lucrative pay-per-view attractions of all time, in any sport.

He was also titled the highest-paid athlete of 2018, where he bagged a mammoth $285 million.

Recently all of his achievements were summed up when 'The Best Ever' posted on Instagram with a caption, "Numbers don't lie and Boxrec told the truth. It is what it is."

Mayweather led the way with a staggering 2255 points, followed by Manny Pacquiao in second place with 1629 points.

Mayweather was a part of some of boxing's biggest ever fights during in his career. The most notable one was with Pacquiao, which was the best pound-to-pound fight in the world at that time as both were amazing boxers.

Another memorable occasion was when Mayweather fought against UFC champion Conor McGregor, following which he had an exhibition fight against the famous YouTube personality, Logan Paul.

Besides this, the boxing idol Muhammad Ali was placed at number 4 by the system behind the Argentinian boxer Carlos Monzon (who is third with 1588 points) with 1485 points.

Another notable surprise in this list was that Bernard Hopkins (1470) was ahead of the great Suger Ray Robinson (1469), Joe Louis (1466) and Archie Moore (1289).

The highest-ranked Brit on the list was Joe Calzaghe who came in at number 32 in the rankings with 859 points to his name.
