Luke Hatfield reckons that Aston Villa still have high hopes for Keinan Davis, even though he's likely to be loaned out in January.
The striker, who was handed his Villa debut by Steve Bruce, was expected to leave on loan in the summer, but an injury scuppered any chance of Davis leaving and he hasn't yet made a first-team outing this season.
What's the latest news with Davis?
The 23-year-old, 6ft3, has been in the first-team for five seasons now, but he's only made 85 appearances and has never quite been able to establish himself as a first-choice option.
Davis started just one Premier League game last season and has only scored six times for Villa, which is an extremely uninspiring record for a number nine.
But his 18 outings last season amassed just 442 minutes, with the majority of his appearances in a Villa shirt coming from the bench.

Despite his lack of opportunities and place in the pecking order behind both Danny Ings and Ollie Watkins, Hatfield reckons that the Villa Park club are hopeful that he can still come good.

He told GIVEMESPORT: "Aston Villa have high hopes for Keinan Davis, regardless of whether they send him out on loan or not.
"They just want to make sure he gets the time on the pitch and hopefully he develops into the football player that is potentially there to be.

"So, I'm sure Villa will be looking at teams that play a similar style, and it seems like Nottingham Forest would work out pretty well."
Does Davis have a future at Aston Villa?
A loan move to the Championship can go one of two ways for Davis. Should he get minutes, score some goals, and get some much-needed confidence, it could prove a turning point for the young striker, who's never previously spent time away from Villa Park.
However, with two top class strikers in Watkins and Ings already ahead of him, a successful loan spell could only see Davis drop further down the pecking order and find that the Championship is actually his level, leading to a permanent move away from the club.
Furthermore, highly-rated teenager Cameron Archer is also relishing his opportunity in the senior team and is another reason why Davis' chances at Villa would be restricted should he stay.
