Chadwick’s title win saw her accumulate 15 more points on her FIA super licence, with a total of 40 needed to compete in F1 full-time.If Chadwick does make the transition, she’d become the first woman since Italy’s Lella Lombardi in 1976 to compete in Formula One.The Brit is yet to decide what the future holds but says this achievement is an important step in her career regardless."What's going to come with this season's win is going to be amazing. I'm so excited for what's next – I don't know what's next but it's been a really important leg up in my career to have that double championship."

Meanwhile, Russell will not be part of the Williams team next year after it was announced he’d drive for Mercedes alongside Lewis Hamilton.

The 23-year-old is still searching for his first win in F1, but did claim a podium finish in the rain-affected Belgium Grand Prix this year.
