Wolverhampton Wanderers head coach Bruno Lage is expected to continue persevering with Adama Traore despite the winger's lack of end product, according to Express & Star journalist Luke Hatfield.

Although his blistering pace has caused all sorts of problems for opponents, Traore has yet to record a goal or an assist this season.

What's the latest news involving Traore?

Traore's lack of cutting edge in the final third is proving to be a worry for Wolves, with the Spain international without a Premier League goal since the narrow win over Brighton & Hove Albion in May.

The 25-year-old's frustrations in front of goal led to him being dropped to the bench for the wins over Southampton and Newcastle United before he was reinstated to the starting line-up for their two most recent fixtures against Aston Villa and Leeds United.

Prior to Traore being omitted from the starting XI for the first time this season, Lage downplayed the situation and told Sky Sports - via BirminghamLive - that he had only taken the decision due to three matches being played in quick succession.

Since making the move to Molineux thanks to Wolves meeting the then-Middlesbrough winger's £18million release clause three years ago, Traore has found the back of the net just seven times in 112 Premier League outings.

What has Luke Hatfield said about Traore?

Hatfield believes Lage will refuse to shy away from giving Traore more opportunities despite his goal drought.

Lage was appointed as Wolves' head coach in June, following Nuno Espirito Santo's exit by mutual agreement at the end of last season.

The Portuguese heaped praise on Traore following his early season performances and Hatfield feels the former Barcelona man will become even more of a handful for defenders if he works on his finishing.

He told GIVEMESPORT: "I can understand why Lage would constantly persevere with him because when a player does what he can, you do think that they've got it in their locker.

"He just needs a finish. That's all he needs."

What's the latest news on Traore's future?

It was reported last month that Traore was on the verge of committing his future to Wolves by signing a new deal worth £100,000-per-week.

However, that agreement has yet to be confirmed and, as it stands, Traore has less than two years remaining on his current £43,000-per-week contract.

Wolves are desperate to tie the winger down to an extended deal as he attracted interest from Tottenham Hotspur during the summer transfer window.

According to The Athletic journalist David Ornstein, Wolves turned down a £30million offer from Spurs with the deadline looming and were only willing to sell Traore for £50million.

In recent weeks, Spanish news outlet El Nacional have alleged that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is mulling over making a move for Traore.
