Liverpool completely humiliated Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday evening.

The Reds cruised to a 5-0 victory at the home of their fierce rivals.

Naby Keita started the rout in the eighth minute. Diogo Jota scored the second, before the brilliant Mohamed Salah bagged a hat-trick.

There was a minor surprise in Jurgen Klopp's starting XI for the match.

Joel Matip has been so impressive this season but the German manager decided that Ibrahima Konaté would partner Virgil van Dijk at the back.

Konate had played just one Premier League match in a red shirt prior to the United game.

But Klopp's decision was justified as the Frenchman put in a colossal display.

Konate has already become somewhat of a fan favourite since moving to Liverpool in the summer.

And he endeared himself to Reds fans even more during one moment in the game.

Konate was one of many Liverpool players that rushed to confront Cristiano Ronaldo after he kicked the ball at Curtis Jones in the first half.

Bruno Fernandes came in to defend his compatriot, but Konate brushed him aside with apparent ease.

Fred then rushed over to confront the 22-year-old, but Konate easily tossed him aside with one arm.

The clip can be seen in Liverpool's 'Inside Anfield' video. View the short clip below:

Konate is an absolute unit.

Fair play to Fred for trying his best to defend Fernandes but it was always going to end one way, wasn't it?!

The defender may not have played as much as he would have liked to start his career but he has been very impressive in his few appearances.

If he keeps performing how he has been, it seems only a matter of time until he's Van Dijk's regular partner in the centre of defence.
