To say it’s been a bad couple of weeks for Jose Mourinho at AS Roma would be an understatement. The Portuguese coach, who joined the Italian club in the summer after being sacked by Tottenham in April, was unable to prevent his team losing 1-0 away to Juventus on October 17.Four days later, Mourinho slumped to one of the most embarrassing defeats of his managerial career away to Norwegian side FK Bodo/Glimt in the UEFA Europa Conference League.Failing to win the game was bad enough but to lose 6-1 was a result that sent shockwaves across Europe.Mourinho slammed his players in his post-match interview, telling reporters: “If I could always play with the same XI, then I would. It’s risky, because we have a huge gap in quality between the two groups of players."I knew the limits of this squad, it is not new to me, but I still expected a better response. As I said, it’s my choice to play them, so my responsibility.p1fiu1u2qb48v2ls14kv8do9fid.jpg“I never disguised the fact we were a squad with real limitations. We have 13 players who represent one team, the others are on a different level.“At least the positive thing from now on is that nobody will ask me why I always use the same players.”

Mourinho was sent off against Napoli

Three days later, towards the end of Roma’s 0-0 draw against Napoli in Serie A, Mourinho was sent off by referee Davide Massa. The 58-year-old’s miserable week was complete.

Will Mourinho be tempted by the Newcastle job?

There’s already speculation that Mourinho may not be at Roma for too long.

He insists that he’s committed to the job at the Stadio Olimpico, however, despite reports linking him to the Newcastle United vacancy.

"Newcastle job? I’ve decided to stay, I’m not leaving," the former Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham boss told Sky Sport Italia, per The Mirror.

"I signed for a three-year project with Roma and I’m not going to leave my players."

He added: "I worked with Mr Robson, one of the greatest in the history of the club, and I have always had a connection with those people and that city that I know well by now."
