Mohamed Salah further enhanced his status as one of the world’s best footballers - if not *the* world’s best footballer - by scoring a hat-trick for Liverpool away at Manchester United on Sunday. The Egyptian has been in sparkling form this season, scoring 10 goals and providing a further six assists in the first nine Premier League games of the season.Salah already has 15 goals in all competitions this season, from just 12 appearances, and many fans and pundits alike have described him as the world’s best player on current form.Jurgen Klopp hailed Salah as the world’s best following Liverpool’s 5-0 demotion of Watford earlier this month.Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson and Trent Alexander-Arnold said the same of their in-form teammate following Sunday’s historic victory at Old Trafford. It’s fair to say that Salah has exceeded all expectations since moving to Liverpool from AS Roma in June 2017.Looking back, £34 million was an absolute steal for the prolific forward, who has now scored more Premier League goals than all but 25 players in history.p1fiucc44bg7g1q9b47811j81m22f.jpgOf his 107 Premier League goals, quite a few of them have been sensational. One of his best goals was scored against his former club Chelsea in a 2-0 win for Liverpool in April 2019.Cutting in from the right flank, Salah unleashed an unstoppable 25-yard rocket into the far corner past Kepa Arrizabalaga.

It may have been one of the goals of the 2018-19 season, but it still wasn’t enough to convince Shay Given to stop eating his dinner.

The former goalkeeper - best known for his spells with Newcastle United, Manchester City and Aston Villa - was providing analysis for the Premier League’s global audience alongside ex-Liverpool winger Steve McManaman and Arsenal legend Ian Wright.

McManaman was off his feet, Wright was shouting and applauding, while Given continued tucking into his second-half dinner.

Shay Given continued to eat dinner after Salah screamer

The funny clip went viral at the time and you can watch it again here:

Shay Given explains why he continued eating his dinner

"We were totally off air, so the producer has stitched me up at the end of the show," Given told talkSPORT. "He’s said to us, ‘we’ve just got a little clip to show you before we’re finished for the day’.

"So I’m sitting there quite relaxed thinking, ‘what it’s going to be?’, and it’s me munching down a Sunday roast!"

The Irishman added: “I had my Man City head on.

"Ian Wright and Steve McManaman were going mad because it was a special goal, but I felt maybe Chelsea could have taken a point or two off Liverpool for my old club.

"Once Salah hit that strike I thought, ‘oh that’s it, they’re not losing now’, so it was back to my food! I think I would have caught it, myself!"
