Sky Sports journalist Michael Bridge believes plenty of clubs are keeping tabs on Rangers midfielder Joe Aribo ahead of the transfer window reopening.

Aribo has made an impressive start to the campaign, starting all of the Gers' Scottish Premiership fixtures so far.

What's the latest news involving Aribo?

Rangers clinched Aribo's signature in the summer of 2019, with the Gers spending £300,000 as the central midfielder headed north of the border after opting against signing a new contract with Charlton Athletic.

Steven Gerrard, who had moved into the Ibrox hotseat a year earlier, confirmed Rangers went head-to-head with Premier League clubs to secure Aribo's services.

Lee Bowyer hit out at Aribo for swapping the Valley for Glasgow, with the then-Charlton boss telling talkSPORT, via the Scottish Sun, that the decision had been financially driven.

Nigeria boss Gernot Rohr fuelled speculation that Aribo was close to leaving Rangers at the end of the summer transfer window by suggesting the central midfielder had reported late for international duty after being locked in transfer talks.

But, speaking to Nigerian radio station Brila FM via the Daily Record, the 25-year-old insisted he was fully focused on the Gers and not a potential move elsewhere.

It has been reported that Premier League side Crystal Palace are keeping tabs on Aribo, who has less than two years remaining on his current Rangers contract, as the January transfer window nears.

What has Michael Bridge said about Aribo?

Bridge has alleged that Crystal Palace are not the only club who have 6 ft 2 Aribo on their radar.

The Sky Sports journalist believes the Nigeria international, who has won 10 caps and scored two goals in the process, has proved his worth in domestic and European football.

Bridge told GIVEMESPORT: "I'm sure people are watching him. He's a very skilful player. We can question the Scottish Premiership, sure, but he's been brilliant in the Europa League.

"He's got European experience and played in countless Old Firm games.

"The Motherwells, Hearts' and Aberdeens away aren't as done and dusted as people think."

Why would clubs be interested in Aribo?

Aribo has shown his capabilities in the final third, finding the back of the net 35 times and grabbing a further 32 assists in 206 club appearances for Rangers and Charlton.

He has got his name on the scoresheet twice since the season got underway in July and regularly bagged a place in Gerrard's starting line-up as the Gers clinched their first Scottish Premiership title in a decade.

Aribo has impressed in the Champions League and Europa League for the Glasgow-based outfit as well, with him making 30 European appearances.
