Danny Mills on Man Utd: Sky Sports News pundit calls Red Devils s**t on live TV

Danny Mills on Man Utd

The worst part about Manchester United’s 0-5 defeat to Liverpool on Sunday was that absolutely nobody was too surprised by the result.

United have been poor in recent weeks and went into the clash at Old Trafford with one point from their previous three Premier League matches against Aston Villa, Everton and Leicester.

A few days previously, they had found themselves 2-0 down against an understrength Atalanta side. A second-half comeback saved them from an embarrassing defeat.

However, following their 3-2 victory over Atalanta, they were very much brought down to earth by Liverpool.

They were 2-0 down after just 13 minutes following goals from Naby Keita and Diogo Jota thanks to some awful defending.

But any hopes of another miraculous comeback was extinguished before half time.

Mohamed Salah made it 3-0 in the 38th-minute before the Egyptian scored again before the break to put Liverpool 4-0 ahead.

There were boos on the half time whistle as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer trudged down the tunnel.

Who did Manchester United lose to on the opening day of the 2020/21 campaign?

The only consolation for United was that Liverpool took it easy on them in the second half.

Salah completed his hat-trick five minutes after half time before Paul Pogba was sent off on the hour mark for a terrible tackle on Keita.

You got the impression that if Liverpool really wanted to score a few more, they could have done.

But a 5-0 defeat was damaging enough for Solskjaer and the club.

It leaves the Red Devils in seventh and already eight points adrift of league leaders Chelsea. A title challenge already looks over.

As for the Norwegian manager, he’s holding onto his job by his fingertips.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Reports suggest he has just three matches to save his job. They come against Tottenham, Atalanta and Manchester City. Ouch.

The inquests have come from every angle as pundits have dissected every detail of United’s humiliating defeat.

Many have come to the conclusion that Solskjaer must now be relieved of his duties.

However, some have stopped short of analysing the loss in too much detail. Instead, they simply think United aren’t very good.

It’s fair to say Sky Sports News pundit, Danny Mills, is of that opinion.

That’s because a clip emerged from Wednesday morning of the former Manchester City defender being heard saying “Basically, Man Utd are s**t’ in footage that clearly wasn’t supposed to be aired by Sky Sports News.
