Liverpool defender Daniel Agger says he feels more relaxed under the stewardship of Kenny Dalglish.

The Danish centre-back has made nine appearances for the Reds this season and is regarded by Dalglish as an integral member of his squad.

However, during the tenure of Roy Hodgson, Agger's Anfield future looked unsure after he appeared to publicly criticise the now West Brom manager.

But, with injury problems now behind him and Dalglish transforming fortunes at Liverpool, Agger is feeling particularly positive.

"I have especially enjoyed being on the pitch this season and just take one match at a time," the 26-year-old told

"I have noticed that I am more relaxed. I know where I am at the moment and that suits me perfectly.

"Football has always meant a lot to me but I enjoy it more today."

Although he is now fighting fight after numerous injury setbacks over the past 12 months or so, Agger is wary to over exerting himself.

And the Kop favourite concedes he may never be able to regain the physical fitness he once had.

"It's going well right now," he added. "It's not perfect, but it will probably never be that.

"My body might not have been built to play football.

"You have to learn to live with it and I have done that. It has been necessary at times."
