Premier League rules state players must wear shinpads but it seems players like Keita opt for the smallest possible protection.

Many are comparing them to an AirPod case.

“That's... I'm lost for words honestly,” wrote on Liverpool fan.

Another supporter added: “This really needs fixed by the FA.”

“Ffs that seems risky as hell,” a third added.

A fourth asked whether Liverpool should intervene by saying: “How is that even allowed?! The club surely have must have some policy on wearing proper shin pads.”

A fifth joked: “Pretty sure that’s a bar of soap.”

To be honest, it didn’t really matter what shinpads Keita was wearing during Pogba’s tackle. He was always going to come off second best to the lunging Frenchman and the United man would have been sent off regardless.

But for a player that is so injury-prone, you’d expect him to do everything he can to avoid another injury at all costs.
