Luke Hatfield reckons that Valerien Ismael is facing a potential selection headache ahead of West Brom's trip to Fulham this weekend following Robert Snodgrass' fine performance against Bristol City.

With first-choice central midfield pair Jake Livermore and Alex Mowatt suspended and injured, the Baggies boss was forced to start with Snodgrass and Jayson Molumby.

Those two could return for the crunch clash at Craven Cottage, but Hatfield said that it would be hard to drop the former Scotland international.

How did Snodgrass perform against Bristol City?

According to WhoScored, only Semi Ajayi (6.88) and Matt Phillips (7.03) recorded a worse rating than the midfielder's score of 7.04.

However, Snodgrass used all of his quality and experience to keep the Baggies ticking over, completing 39 accurate passes, second only to Molumby, whilst his passing success rate was the third best on the pitch from players that started the game.

Snodgrass even played a part in West Brom's third goal, with his long punt forward resulting in Karlan Grant taking advantage of some poor Bristol City defending to beat Daniel Bentley from long-range.

He could still fare better once his fitness continues to improve, but it was an encouraging display considering it was his first league start since February and only second outing of the campaign.

But with Livermore back in the fold and Mowatt hoping to be fit and available, Hatfield reckons that Ismael will be facing a tough decision ahead of the game with Fulham.

What did Hatfield say?

He told GIVEMESPORT: "I mean with Jake Livermore back after suspension and Alex Mowatt's injury hopefully getting sorted you do wonder whether he can keep his place, but after such a performance, it'll be really hard to drop him."

Is Snodgrass likely to start?

Fulham is obviously a much tougher task than Bristol City, but the 34-year-old showed last weekend that he's more than ready to step in if called upon.

Furthermore, when Mowatt was rushed back against Birmingham earlier this month, West Brom paid the price after he hobbled off I the second-half.

And with Snodgrass boasting plenty of big game experience, if Mowatt isn't 100 percent fit, then the former West Ham and Aston Villa might just get the nod and partner Livermore in the middle.
