Mike Tyson has been criticised by Caleb Plant after claiming Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez is going to knock him spark out.

Plant, 29, is set to clash with Canelo Alvarez on November 6 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

The Tennessee native will be putting his IBF strap on the line for the fifth time, after recently following his one-sided points win over his fellow American Caleb Truax, and the 29-year-old will also put his unbeaten record in the line in what promises to be a fascinating contest.

Canelo has 38 knockout victories in 59 pro fights (56 wins, one defeat and two draws). Fifteen of those knockouts have come inside the first three rounds.

By comparison Plant - who has 12 knockouts from his 21 fights - is still undefeated in his professional career.

But 'Iron Mike' has completely written off Plant's chances of landing a huge upset win over Alvarez.

"This guy is going to f------ kill him," Tyson said during a recent episode of the 'Hotboxin' with Mike Tyson' podcast.

"He’s your friend, you’re going to his funeral. He looks like some Floyd Mayweather s---, he's gonna get f----- up.

"Wait till that m------------ starts hitting that body, Alvarez, those m------------ body shots, oh, he's gonna get f----- up."

Canelo Alvarez and Caleb Plant will meet at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on November 6.

He has since repeated that claim several times over the past few weeks and months leading up to the fight.

However, Plant has poured scorn on Tyson's word of warning, claiming that there's 'a lot of factors that going into a fight' and 'there's a lot more to winning a fight than just being stronger than somebody'.

“He was stronger than Buster Douglas but that didn’t help him,” Plant told FightHype.com.

“He was determined to win. He was stronger than Lennox Lewis, he was stronger than Evander Holyfield but there’s a lot more to winning a fight than just being stronger than somebody.

He added: "There’s a lot of keys and a lot of factors that go into a fight and not all of it has to do with strength.

“For any people who think that I don’t hit hard, you can ask Jose Uzcategui. How many times has he been sat on his a--?”
