Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge reckons that Joe Aribo is on Crystal Palace's radar – and thinks they could sign him on the cheap.

According to Football Insider, Patrick Vieira's side are 'keeping tabs' on the midfielder, who's been with the Scottish champions since joining from Charlton for £300,000 in 2019.

Aribo hadn't played higher than League One level prior to his move north of the border, but his two seasons with Rangers have allowed him to play European football on a regular basis.

How has Aribo performed at Rangers?

Considering he cost less than half a million, Aribo's contribution to the Rangers cause in recent years has been terrific.

Having scored 14 goals in his final two seasons at Charlton, albeit in League One, Aribo has continued to prove himself as a goalscoring midfielder, netting an impressive 19 and chipping in with 17 assists in 109 Gers appearances across all competitions.

15 of those goal involvements came last season when Rangers ended their long wait for Scottish Premiership success by storming to the title at the expense of their great rivals Celtic, following an unbeaten campaign.

Aribo, valued at £5.85m by Transfermarkt, has started all but one game this term and has generally been a guaranteed starter since his switch from Charlton, proving himself as someone that Steven Gerrard can rely on.

According to WhoScored, the 25-year-old has been Rangers' third best player with an average rating of 7.14, which includes a man-of-the-match display against Motherwell last month.

Therefore, Bridge reckons that he's a player that Palace will be keeping a close eye on.

What did Bridge say?

He told GIVEMESPORT: "Aribo, he would probably be on their radar. He wouldn't cost the world; he's obviously come from Charlton."

Do Palace need Aribo?

Vieira signed two central midfielders this summer in Will Hughes and Conor Gallagher, whilst he already has the likes of James McArthur, Luka Milivojevic and Cheikhou Kouyate at his disposal.

With that in mind, game-time would appear hard to come by for Aribo, but in his defence, he's the only one of those that would consider himself as a goalscorer, whilst the latter three are all the wrong side of 30.

Furthermore, Aribo can play in several different positions and has previously been deployed out wide and whilst Palace aren't short of wingers, the former Charlton man would add plenty to their squad and would definitely fit in with the type of personnel that Vieira has been looking to bring in.
