Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is still Manchester United manager.
Despite the club’s recent form and the 5-0 humiliation at the hands of Liverpool, it’s no surprise there is enormous pressure on the Norwegian’s job.
The Red Devils have three matches before the international break which are very much make or break as far as Solskjaer's future is concerned.
They travel to Tottenham on Saturday evening before an away trip to Atalanta in the Champions League. They then have the Manchester derby at Old Trafford on November 6.
Unless United win all three of those matches, Solskjaer’s tenure will surely still be under threat.
But who could replace Ole at Old Trafford?
According to the bookmakers - and reports - Antonio Conte is the favourite.
Some reports are more advanced than others and Italian outlet Gazzettaa Dello Sport believe Conte has already said ‘yes’ to an offer.
They go further and claim that nine current Manchester United players have helped convince Conte to agree to become their new manager if Solskjaer is sacked.
Those nine players are: Cristiano Ronaldo, Paul Pogba, Raphael Varane, Alex Telles, Bruno Fernandes, Anthony Martial, Jadon Sancho, Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford.
While many of those names aren’t exactly surprising, it’s perhaps a shock to see the likes of Telles and Martial named considering they’ve played very few minutes this season.
Conte clearly sees something in them, though.
The ‘charm’ of Old Trafford also appeals to the former Chelsea boss.
In addition, Conte thinks it will take ‘a new tactical organisation and almost maniacal motivations’ to bring success back to the club.
So it seems Conte has made up his mind and now it’s over to United to make their decision.
However, Solskjaer isn't giving up yet and is determined to "bounce back" ahead of the next international break.
“Next week it is Tottenham away, then Atalanta in the Champions League, the next team who visit us is Man City and we have to look forward,” Solskjaer told a post-match press conference after the Liverpool defeat.
“We have to sort the frame of minds out and make sure we go into the next training session and the next game in the right frame of mind.
“Manchester United have had tough times, difficult times before and they have always bounced back and taken on challenges.
“Last season we were second and this season we have started badly. You have to get through that one and then start building performances, start building results, start with clean sheets and see where that take us at the end of the season.”
