£40m bid mooted for Liverpool & Spurs striker target


Shakhtar Donetsk are ready to gazump Liverpool and Tottenham in the pursuit of Brazilian striker Leandro Damiao, it has been claimed.

The 22-year-old has netted 13 times in 24 appearances for Internacional this term and has been courted by a number of Europe's top clubs.

However, according to talkSPORT, Shakhtar are set to sanction a massive £40 million bid for Damiao, which would seemingly end the interest of Liverpool and Spurs.

Spurs were known to have made a number of bids for Damiao over the course of the summer after Harry Redknapp watched him in action in early spring.

However, Spurs were unable to reach an an agreement, and Liverpool have since been linked with a move of their own.

Reports have suggested Liverpool No.2 Steve Clarke has also scouted Damiao, and Kenny Dalglish is alleged to be considering a January offer.

Meanwhile, Fulham forward Moussa Dembele is also reported to be on the radar of the Barclays Premier League duo.
