Arsenal are reportedly monitoring the progress of Leeds United youngster Monty Gimpel.

The 18-year-old German rejected the chance to join Liverpool and Manchester City earlier this year in order to sign for the Whites.

However, his stay at Elland Road could be short lived if Arsenal decide to make their move for the teenager.

According to The People, Arsene Wenger is tracking Gimpel, who has yet to make his senior bow for Leeds.

However, he has impressed in the Leeds reserves and youth team, and has been tipped to graduate to Simon Grayson's first-team in the not too distant future.

Arsenal, meanwhile, are also said to be keeping a close eye on Manchester United starlet Paul Pogba, who is nearing the end of his contract at Old Trafford.

Arsene Wenger had tried to sign the 18-year-old Frenchman before he joined United in 2009.
