Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli has played down reports of a move back to Italy in the New Year.

The 21-year-old former Inter Milan striker has been a revelation at the Etihad Stadium this term after a far from prolific first season for the Citizens under Roberto Mancini.

His form has led to talk of a return to Serie 'A', something the youngster is happy to consider in the future, but for now he's more than happy with the Barclays Premier League leaders.

"Not now. One day we will see," he replied when asked if a return to Italy was on the cards following their 1-0 friendly defeat to Uruguay.

"It is true I have spoken about Inter or Milan but there are also other teams in England or in Spain.

"Napoli I have said that I like the town, and I thank Moratti for saying he would sign me back immediately."

The forward has five goals in just seven top flight starts this term, and also has two goals in three cup games, including a Champions League goal against Villarreal at El Madrigal.
