Valerien Ismael started to win around his doubters thanks to West Bromwich Albion’s dominant performance against Bristol City, according to Express & Star journalist Luke Hatfield.
Ismael’s side recorded an impressive 3-0 victory when the Robins visited the Hawthorns last weekend.
What’s the latest news involving Ismael?
West Brom were on the lookout for a new boss after Sam Allardyce opted against signing an extended contract to remain at the helm.
West Brom suffered relegation from the Premier League last season, with them only winning five matches in the top flight.
Ismael has already led the Baggies to more victories over the course of 14 Championship fixtures and they are on course to challenge for an immediate return to the top flight, with Albion sitting third in the table.
A 4-0 victory over Cardiff City also resulted in Ismael leading West Brom to a record-breaking unbeaten start to the season.
That run came to an end at the hands of Stoke City, with that being the first of two Championship defeats so far this term.
What has Luke Hatfield said about Ismael?
West Brom make the trip to Craven Cottage this weekend, with the Baggies set to take on Fulham tomorrow.
Ismael hailed Albion’s performance last time out, which saw Jordan Hugill, Kyle Bartley and Karlan Grant find the back of the net in a 3-0 win over Bristol City.
Hatfield reckons that display will have proved beneficial for Ismael’s relationship with the West Brom faithful.
He told GIVEMESPORT: “He’s willing to adapt. I think we saw that against Bristol City.

“They played some fantastic football against Bristol City and that’s what Albion fans will have wanted to see.”
Why has Ismael been on the end of criticism?
According to the Athletic’s West Brom correspondent Steve Madeley, members of Ismael’s squad have questioned the head coach’s high-pressing style of play.
Speaking on talkSPORT, via West Brom News, Adrian Durham was critical of Ismael and labelled the Frenchman as ‘Tony Pulis with towels’.
While understanding frustrations coming from the Hawthorns stands, former Albion striker Kevin Phillips has defended Ismael and said it was crazy to be calling for Ismael’s sacking so early into his reign.
