Journalist Tom Barclay reckons that Christian Benteke's Crystal Palace career was summed up in 90 minutes against Newcastle last weekend.
The Belgian striker scored his second goal in as many games to open the scoring but didn't have it all his own way in the 1-1 draw.
What happened against Newcastle?
Benteke would have come into the game with his confidence high having scored against Arsenal five days earlier – his first goal since netting in another clash with the Gunners at the back end of last season.

That was clear to see from the off, with the striker getting into some excellent positions early on and hit the post early on before seeing his acrobatic volley fly just over.
But Benteke, valued at £8.1m by Transfermarkt, was clearly in the mood and eventually got his reward in the second-half when he powered home a Tyrick Mitchell cross to break the deadlock.
Benteke struck the woodwork for a second time not long after when his looping header came back off the crossbar, but less than two minutes later Newcastle made him pay when Callum Wilson scored an excellent leveller.
That wouldn't mark the end of the former Liverpool striker's day, though. He would go on to miss a one-on-one that he really should have put away, but Benteke thought he had the final say when he sent another header past Karl Darlow, only for his effort to be ruled out for a foul on Matt Richie by one of his teammates.

It was an afternoon when Benteke could have gone home with the match ball but would have left Selhurst Park wondering how he only found the back of the net once, and Barclay reckons that it nicely summed up his time as a Palace player.
What did Barclay say?
He told GIVEMESPORT: "Against Newcastle, he was unlucky not to score that goal, it was chalked off, he hit the post in the first-half and there was a chance that he should have buried.
"That kind of summed up his time at Crystal Palace, missing chances, he's obviously had some amazing spells without scoring."
Is Benteke likely to start against Manchester City?
Despite essentially fluffing a host of golden chances that could have helped Palace to a second win of the season, there's no reason to bring Benteke out of the firing line.
He'll do well to keep his scoring run going against a mean Manchester City backline, but Benteke usually goes through spells of scoring loads on the bounce and then not finding the net for ages, so Patrick Vieira will surely start him against the champions in order for the former will continue.
Wilfried Zaha could return to the side this weekend, though, which might allow Odsonne Edouard to move centrally, so Benteke's place in the XI is far from guaranteed.
