Todd Cantwell has been among the biggest names to suffer from Norwich City boss Daniel Farke's change in system, according to journalist Stuart Hodge.

Heading into this weekend's clash with Leeds United, Farke has deployed a 3-5-2 formation in each of the Canaries' last four fixtures.

What's the latest news involving Cantwell?

Cantwell, who is valued at £19.8million by Transfermarkt, played a key role as Norwich won their second Championship title in three seasons, scoring six goals and grabbing seven assists in the process.

But he has not made a first team appearance in more than a month, missing the Canaries' last five encounters in all competitions.

Ahead of last weekend's 7-0 hammering at the hands of Chelsea, Farke confirmed Cantwell is not in his current plans due to wanting more from the winger on the training pitch and a spell away from the side for personal reasons.

Rather than being an option at Stamford Bridge, Cantwell scored in the Norwich under-23s' 2-1 win over Birmingham City less than 24 hours earlier.

Cantwell's Carrow Road contract, worth £25,000-per-week, is due to expire in less than 12 months but has the option of being extended by another year.

What has Stuart Hodge said about the situation?

Hodge believes Cantwell - along with Milot Rashica, Christos Tzolis and Kieran Dowell - will struggle to break into Farke's preferred starting line-up due to a change in Norwich's formation.

He told GIVEMESPORT: "If they're going to continue playing with the system that they've got now, then you've got lots of players where there's not a natural place where you would slot them in.

"You could point to Todd Cantwell, Milot Rashica, Christos Tzolis and Kieran Dowell and say where are they going to get game time from?

"Whether they need to adapt roles or tweak it a bit in terms of the way it looks in the forward areas, I don't know.

"One of the big challenges, as well as getting the goals, is going to be fitting the attacking pieces together in a way that everyone can get a good spread of game time."

How many opportunities have Rashica, Tzolis and Dowell got this season?

Rashica joined from Werder Bremen in June, with Norwich forking out a fee in the region of £9million to acquire his services.

However, the 25-year-old winger has made just four starts for his new employers and failed to find the back of the net.

Tzolis was also a £10million arrival during the summer transfer window but has only appeared in the Premier League three times despite bagging two goals in the Carabao Cup.

Dowell has failed to be involved in a Premier League fixture for more than a month even though he contributed six goals in 26 outings last season.
