Donny van de Beek: Man Utd teammates told him to change agent to force exit

Donny van de Beek is yet to start a PL game for Man Utd this season

Donny van de Beek’s move from Ajax to Manchester United has turned into something of a nightmare.

The versatile Dutch midfielder was an absolute superstar in his homeland and a regular for his country’s national team.

In 175 appearances for Ajax across all competitions, Van de Beek scored 41 goals and contributed 34 assists, numbers befitting of a world-class midfielder.

So when he secured a £35 million move to Manchester, big things were expected of him, but it’s sadly all gone wrong for the 24-year-old in the north of England.

Van de Beek has been restricted to just 1,597 minutes of action under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s rule and he’s yet to start a match in the Premier League so far this season.

It’s been mighty tough for the Dutchman and even his United teammates are acutely aware of his troubling situation, so much so that they’ve persuaded him to hire a new agent in order to force through an exit.

Van de Beek’s teammates persuade him to get a new agent

According to a report by the Daily Mail, Van de Beek was convinced to ditch former representative Guido Albers following conversations with colleagues in the dressing room.

The midfielder has now hired Ali Dursun as his agent, a man who also works on behalf of both United defender Victor Lindelof and Barcelona‘s Frenkie de Jong.

Hopefully, Darsun can find Van de Beek a new club in the January transfer window, because it’s clear he has no future at Old Trafford.

Well, while Solskjaer is in charge anyway…

The Norwegian’s job as manager is under serious threat right now after the team’s woeful display in the 5-0 defeat to Liverpool last weekend.

If United fail to achieve victory against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday, the 48-year-old may be sacked as a consequence.

Now, were that to happen, there’s a distinct possibility that a new manager would bring Van de Beek back from exile and give him first-team opportunities to prove his quality.

To be honest, that’s the very least he deserves after being unfairly made an outcast by Solskjaer.
