A year has passed since The Eagle’s shock retirement at UFC 254, but not a day goes past where people aren't talking or reminiscing about Khabib Nurmagomedov and his remarkable career inside the Octagon.
However, not everyone looks back with fondness and compliments.
Who could forget the famous thread from his greatest rival Conor McGregor, where the Irishman tried to belittle his records and his career.
After Mike Bohn of MMA Junkie tweeted an article detailing Khabib's accomplishments in the sport, McGregor was quick to point out that many of these "records" were not all they appeared to be.

"Rushed work Michael," tweeted McGregor in response. "Andre’s Belarusian, and the reason the Belarus flag is on the newly designed belt. Along with seven other countries of the first Champion winners."
The Irishman then decided to put his professor hat on and presented Bohn with answers to why countries have their respected flag on the “new belt design.”
McGregor then went on to confirm the name of the Russian fighter missing from Bohn's piece: "Oleg Taktarov is the other Russian winner you seek. Although in tournament format it was without an official belt."
After this dig, the 32-year-old claimed that the records were “garbage” and “overstretched,” clearly still holding a bit of a grudge towards the Russian.
Khabib is tied for the most lightweight title defences, consecutive UFC wins and consecutive lightweight wins in the company's history. He is also second for the most takedowns secured in UFC lightweight history.
Whilst these are impressive facts, they do not set Khabib apart from his competition.
McGregor was eager to respond to this in a further reply to Bohn: "Also… the rest of those stats are garbage. Multiple tied seconds, most takedowns in a division bar someone else, etc etc. It’s a garbage list full of overstretched accomplishments," argued McGregor.
McGregor may have had the last laugh, but there’s no doubt that Khabib has left a fantastic career and legacy behind him in the UFC.
