Tottenham Hotspur will fail to recoup anywhere near the figure they paid for Tanguy Ndombele and could even struggle to find a buyer in the January transfer window, according to Sky Sports journalist Michael Bridge.
Ndombele became Spurs' club-record signing when he joined the north Londoners in a £53.8million deal from Lyon two years ago.

Despite the huge transfer fee, Ndombele's Spurs career has not gone to plan and he made just 40 Premier League starts over the course of his first two seasons with the club.
Ndombele's unhappy spell at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium was thrust into the limelight when the central midfielder went in search of a move during the summer transfer window.
According to Sky Germany, via Sky Sports, Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich were interested in negotiating a swap deal which would have seen Corentin Tolisso and a fee of £17.2million head in the opposite direction, but Spurs were unwilling to hold further negotiations.
With the deadline a matter of hours away, it was decided at boardroom level that Ndombele would not be sold.
The 24-year-old is Spurs' joint-highest earner, with his £200,000-per-week contract not due to expire until 2024 and boasting the option of being extended by a further 12 months.

Bridge is certain that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy will struggle to recoup a similar amount to what was spent on securing Ndombele's services.
The Sky Sports journalist has tipped Paris Saint-Germain to pass up the opportunity to seal Ndombele's return to his homeland, while he also thinks Barcelona can be ruled out of the running to negotiate a deal.
Bridge told GIVEMESPORT: "The thing is, with the landscape at the moment, Spurs are not going to get the money back for Ndombele.

"Where would he go? PSG? I don't think there's room for him there. He's not really proved himself to go there either.
"I don't know where he goes. Barcelona have got no money."

Ndombele's future looked bleak when Spurs head coach Nuno Espirito Santo refused to select the seven-cap France international for a single pre-season friendly despite no injury problems.
However, he has started each of Spurs' last five Premier League clashes after working his way back into contention.
Ndombele has also featured in the Carabao Cup and Europa Conference League since the closure of the transfer window at the end of August.
