Antonio Rudiger is "wanted by every club in the world" after Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel has transformed the central defender's career, according to Sky Sports journalist Michael Bridge.

Tuchel took charge of the Blues in January and led the west Londoners to Champions League glory within months.

What's the latest news involving Rudiger?

There are question marks over Rudiger's future as his £100,000-per-week contract is set to expire next summer.

The Blues are keen to tie the German down to a new deal but they have been frustrated in their efforts so far, with Rudiger stalling over the offer of a £140,000-per-week contract last month.

That has put some of football's top clubs on red alert and it is thought that Chelsea will have to make Rudiger one of the club's biggest earners if they want to stop him penning a pre-contract agreement with one of six interested parties in January, which would allow him to join a club for free when his Blues deal expires.

Reports suggest Bayern Munich and Juventus are among those lying in wait and Rudiger is set to make himself the highest paid defender of all-time by taking a £400,000-per-week pay packet abroad.

What has Michael Bridge said about Rudiger?

Bridge believes Tuchel has taken Rudiger's game to another level and, as a result, he is one of the most in-demand players in world football.

Rudiger, 28, was restricted to just 35 appearances during Lampard's reign, spending lengthy periods out of the starting line-up.

But Rudiger has already featured more times under Tuchel, despite his appointment coming less than a year ago, and Bridge feels the head coach should be commended.

The Sky Sports journalist told GIVEMESPORT: "That coach took over a Chelsea team getting battered under Lampard, conceding three at West Brom and three at Sheffield United while Rudiger was not in the squad.

"Rudiger is now wanted by every club in the world. These are managerial decisions."

How has Rudiger performed under Tuchel?

Tuchel immediately placed his trust in Rudiger, with him starting 15 of last season's 17 Premier League fixtures following the German's appointment.

The 48-cap Germany international played every minute of Chelsea's Champions League campaign after Tuchel moved into the Stamford Bridge hotseat, including as the Blues saw off Manchester City in the final.

He also played the full 120 minutes as Chelsea beat Villarreal to lift the Super Cup in August and Rudiger, who is valued at £31.5million by Transfermarkt, has been an integral member of Tuchel's Premier League team this season.
