Sergio Ramos: PSG are now considering terminating Spain legend's contract

Sergio Ramos may never get to play a game for PSG

Sergio Ramos is yet to make is debut for Paris Saint-Germain.

The centre-back was signed by the French outfit on a free transfer from Real Madrid in the summer, but has been injured ever since his arrival.

And it seems those in charge at PSG are losing their optimism with regards to the World Cup winner's future at the club.

Last Sunday evening, a report from Le Parisien detailed that Mauricio Pochettino's side are now considering terminating Ramos' contract, which currently runs until 2023.

Ramos could leave PSG before playing a game

The publication claim that PSG now believe that signing the 35-year-old was something of a mistake and it cannot be ruled out that they will look to offload him before he's kicked a ball for the club in a competitive setting.

Who saw that coming, eh?

L'Equipe go some way to backing up the report from Le Parisien as well.

Per Get French Football News, they state that PSG are less confident about Ramos' return to playing at the highest level.

Several knee and calf issues have been identified by the club's medical team, hence why the Spaniard has been condemned to the treatment table for so long.

Ramos had injury issues before joining PSG

Prior to joining PSG, Ramos had played just four competitive matches all year.

His final season at Real Madrid was blighted by injury and it's sadly starting to look very likely that we will never see anything close to the best version of the legendary defender on the pitch again.

But even if that does turn out to be the case, Ramos will still go down as an all-time great.

The fiery centre-back is one of the great footballing leaders in modern times and helped Real Madrid win four Champions League trophies in the space of five years.

He was also a key member of the Spain squad that won three major international tournaments on the trot.

Oh and Ramos has scored 104 goals during his club career, which is incredibly rare for a defender.
