Donny van de Beek has managed just five minutes of Premier League football for Manchester United this season.

The 24-year-old midfielder's brief career at Old Trafford has been disappointing for all parties involved.

Unable to get game time in a midfield that, let's be honest, isn't exactly United's strong point, it now looks as though Van de Beek's time in Manchester will soon come to an end.

The former Ajax man has switched agents in the hopes of securing a move away from the club, according to the Daily Mail.

Barcelona want Van de Beek

Van de Beek won't be short of suitors, having scored 41 goals and provided 34 assists in 175 appearances for Ajax.

Talks with Everton and Wolves have taken place, the Mail claim, while reports from Spain say Barcelona are interested in signing him on loan.

A return to Ajax also wouldn't be a surprise. The Dutch club made it clear how they felt about Van de Beek when he left the club in the summer of 2020.

Van de Beek 'used like a coach'

Evidence of just how far the Netherlands international has fallen down the pecking order under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer came ahead of United's 3-0 win against Tottenham on Saturday.

A fan filmed a video of Van de Beek being used as a setter in a shooting drill, simply laying the ball off to his teammates before they fired shots on goal.

The video wasn't great quality, though.

Thankfully, a new angle of the moment has emerged and it's pretty sad to see.

Cristiano Ronaldo, Bruno Fernandes and Edinson Cavani are among the players taking part in the drill. Van de Beek looks just like a coach as he tees up United's starters to shoot.

That's what Man United paid £40 million for? That's one very expensive coach.

Sympathy for Donny

Reacting to the original fan video, many United fans expressed their sympathy for Van de Beek.

"I feel for Donny man. Absolutely not fair," one wrote on Twitter.

It's clear that he doesn't have a future at Old Trafford. A move in January is needed to revive his career.
