It was confirmed by WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman that Whyte would be facing Fury as the mandatory challenger, even after he pulled out of his Saturday 30th October 2021 bout against Otto Wallin.

UPDATE 8th December: BREAKING NEWS! The WBC have officially ordered both Fury and Whyte to enter negotiations, which means that “The Body Snatcher” will finally get his long-awaited title shot.


UPDATE 16th November: The WBC will determine TODAY who Fury will have to face next with Whyte being the current mandatory!

As noted, Sulaiman confirmed recently that Fury vs Whyte is extremely likely to happen, saying that “the WBC order was very clear, that the winner of Fury vs Wilder has one month to try to secure the ultimate unification against Usyk, who defeated Joshua.

“If they’re not capable of doing such, then the WBC would go with a mandatory, which is the interim champion.

“We have received from the British Boxing Board of Control the medical certification that Whyte could not fight Wallin because of the injury.

“So we are going to do what we promised, which is that way we are moving forward.”

It has been officially confirmed that the fight will be taking place on Saturday April 23rd 2022 from Wembley Arena in London.
