Paul Scholes scored many unbelievably good goals during his playing career with Manchester United.

A one-club man, Scholes is unquestionably one of the greatest players in United’s history, as well as one of the best midfielders that English football has ever produced.

He could score all types of goals: long-range rockets, close-range tap-ins, headers, volleys, chips… the list goes on and on.

Scholes watched back some of his greatest goals for an episode of Gary Neville’s Soccerbox - and his reaction to the featured wonder-strikes sums him up perfectly.

Man Utd’s former No. 18 talked about scoring worldies like it was nothing.

Where other ex-pros would be beaming with pride while watching back their greatest goals, it feels like scoring these bangers were simply all in a day’s work for Scholesy.

Video: Scholes watches his best Man Utd goals

If you’ve never seen this five-minute clip before, you’re in for a real treat (especially if you’re a United fan).

Check it out:

On his goal vs Liverpool, Scholes said: “Again, you’re not aiming for the top corner, you just hope that you hit the target, especially with your left foot.”

On his volley vs Bradford, he added: “They left a massive space and I came running on to it. It’s a great ball [from David Beckham] and the next bit’s lucky.”

After watching his solo goal against Blackburn, Neville commented: “This was the start of a great team for two or three years.”

Scholes replied: “Was it?”

Neville, who couldn’t help but laugh at Scholes’s blunt response, said: “What do you mean, ‘was it’?!

“[Wayne Rooney, [Cristiano] Ronaldo… it was the start of a great team and this was Ronaldo’s first big season.”

The clip ends with Neville and Scholes’s famous celebratory kiss after the latter’s dramatic winning goal against Manchester City.

“People say it’s love, it’s actually aggression,” Neville says. “It’s aggression - it’s a [expletive].”

“Pardon?” Scholes replies, with perfect comedic timing.
