Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge reckons that Conor Gallagher has been one of the best loan signings in the Premier League this season.

The 21-year-old is on a season-long loan at Crystal Palace from London rivals Chelsea and has already earned rave reviews during his three months at Selhurst Park.

What do the stats say about Gallagher?

Gallagher made the temporary switch to Palace following some impressive loan spells with Charlton and West Brom.

However, not even the most optimistic Eagles supporter would have envisaged the midfielder exceling as much as he has done.

Gallagher, valued at £13.5m by Transfermarkt, got the ball rolling at Palace with a two-goal display in September to earn Patrick Vieira's side a creditable 2-2 draw at West Ham.

Two weeks later, the Blues loanee was in the thick of the action in another London derby, winning a penalty and claiming an assist as the Eagles recorded their first victory under the Frenchman against Tottenham.

Gallagher also won the penalty against Brighton but hadn't officially been directly involved in a league goal since the Spurs game ahead of Saturday's trip to Manchester City.

But the England Under-21 man made up for lost time by setting up Wilfried Zaha's first-half opener before sealing yet another three points for Palace at the Etihad Stadium by scoring their second.

Factoring in the two penalties, Gallagher has been involved in seven of Palace's 13 Premier League goals this season.

With that in mind, Bridge reckons that the Chelsea academy graduate has been one of the best loan additions of the campaign.

What did Bridge say?

He told GIVEMESPORT: "Conor Gallagher, probably one of the best loan signings of the season."

Does Gallagher have a future at Chelsea?

Thomas Tuchel has several players of quality in those central midfield areas, but if Gallagher keeps performing for Palace and putting up impressive numbers, he surely won't keep being ignored.

Only right-back Reece James (4) has scored more Premier League goals than Gallagher, whilst he's outscored every one of the Blues' midfielder apart from Mason Mount, whose three goals all came in the same game against Norwich.

Furthermore, the three assists that he's contributed would put him second in the Chelsea squad, behind only Mateo Kovacic, who's been enjoying a productive campaign with five in nine league outings.

Gallagher still has some way to go before Tuchel will be considering him, but more performances like he produced against City, and he'll surely be knocking on the door.
