Leeds Live journalist Joe Donnohue believes the role that Kalvin Phillips plays is the most important one in Marcelo Bielsa's team.
Phillips has been an almost ever-present when fit since Bielsa arrived, and Donnohue has hinted that there is a reason for that.
How have Leeds fared so far this season?
Having finished last season inside the top half in the Premier League, hopes were high at Elland Road heading into the current campaign that Leeds could have another successful year.
However, they have struggled to get going this time around. The side have won just two of their opening 10 league games, which sees them just a place above the bottom three.
Still, their latest outing did see them seal all three points, as they edged past Norwich City 2-1 on Sunday, and Bielsa's men may see this as a turning point in their season.
What has Donnohue said about Phillips' role?
Phillips returned to the starting line-up at Carrow Road after not being fit enough to play in the previous two matches.
He made a difference as he provided the assist for the winning goal, and Donnohue feels that his presence is crucial to Leeds' success on the pitch.
Donnohue told GIVEMESPORT: “The Kalvin Phillips role is possibly the most important in that team because he’s the one who maintains the centrality, and is very much used as a fulcrum at the base of the midfield.
“Anybody knows that you can pass through him, and he’ll ensure a safe passage of the ball to the other side of the pitch or forwards or backwards.”

Is Phillips Leeds' most important player?
Raphinha might have something to say in this argument, given that he has started the season in eye-catching form, scoring four goals in nine top-flight appearances.
Yet there can be little doubt that Phillips, who is valued at £36m by Transfermarkt, is the player who makes the whole side tick. It is telling that Leeds have not managed to win any of the three games that he has missed this term, and they also had major issues when he was unavailable last term.
Phillips sat out nine league matches in 2020/21, and Leeds lost seven of them. The team look a little lost when he is not there, so it is a major boost for them that he has returned to action, and he could now help the side start to climb the table once more.
