Tottenham Hotspur striker Jermain Defoe says the club's winning mentality holds them in good stead for the upcoming festive period as they look to continue their eight-match unbeaten run.
With seven wins and a draw from their last eight league games, Spurs are one of the Barclays Premier League's form sides, with victory over Fulham last time out at Craven Cottage, underlining the club's currently form.
Defore says, ahead of the visit of Aston Villa, the club are in great shape to end the year on a high.
“I’ve always said it’s important to have the winning mentality,” said Defoe
“If you have that it doesn’t matter who you are playing against. You go into every game thinking ‘we’re going to win this’ and that’s important. We’ve got that now.
“We’re on an amazing run and we need to keep it going.
“I always enjoy games against Villa," he added. "They are a tough team to beat, hard to play against.
“I’m looking forward to it and I believe it’s a game we can look to win, at home and the way we’re playing.
“Fulham was massive for us, getting the three points there. That’s a really hard place to go and get something. I’m confident about Monday’s game.”
Spurs could be boosted by the return of manager Harry Redknapp for the game, after the boss underwent heart surgery a fortnight ago.
Redknapp missed the trips to Rubin Kazan and Fulham but could resume his role on the touchline for Monday match against Villa.News Now - Sport News
