Bruce looking to upset record books

Steve Bruce is hoping he can end an unwanted record against Fulham at the Stadium of Light on Saturday.

Sunderland have not beaten during Bruce's tenure on Wearside, but will have the opportunity to do so this weekend.

Last season Fulham gained a draw on their trip to the north-east, while they clinically dispatched of the Black Cats at Craven Cottage.

And Bruce is hoping he can end his hoodo to ensure Sunderland create some breathing space between themselves at the bottom three in the Barclays Premier League.

"Since I moved to Sunderland we haven't had a good record against Fulham," he said.

"Let's hope we can go and play and put that record to bed and get the result that we need this weekend.

"We've played well lately and we must maintain that. If we do that and keep the standards that we've set in recent games we'll be okay."
