Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez won't have it all his own way against Caleb Plant, or so Danny Garcia says, anyway.

Unified super-middleweight world champion Canelo Alvarez, 31, and IBF 168-pound titleholder Plant, 29, will battle it out for all four major belts when they clash at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on November 6.

'Canelo' is currently riding a seven-fight winning streak, including wins over former champs Gennady Golovkin, 39, Daniel Jacobs, 34, and Billy Joe Saunders, 32. Four of those past seven wins have come by way of stoppage.

Plant meanwhile has registered just 12 knockouts from his past 21 professional fights.

However, Garcia said Alvarez faces a tough challenge this weekend with Plant explaining how Plant isn't a foregone conclusion.

When asked how he sees the fight going, Garcia told FightHype.com: “50-50, whoever wants it. I like Plant, he’s my guy."

He added: "Canelo is pound-for-pound. I wish nothing but the best for both of them."

But Bob Arum, he of Tyson Fury fame, respectfully disagrees with Garcia, saying that while Plant is 'a decent fighter' who 'has a lot of skills', as far as he's concerned 'there's only one winner, and that's Canelo'.

Arum said: “I don’t think anybody at 160, 168 right now beats Canelo.

"But Caleb Plant is a decent fighter, he has a lot of skills, and so he’s gonna give Canelo a fight.

"I think it’ll be an entertaining fight but I must say that in view there’s only one winner, and that’s Canelo.

"But Plant is a good opponent for Canelo and he’ll give him a fight."

Arum also suggested that Canelo is on the same level as boxing legends such as Julio Cesar Chavez and Juan Manuel Marquez.

He added: “Certainly one of the great Mexican fighters ever.

"Whether the greatest, that remains to be seen.

"But certainly he belongs in the same type of category as the great Chavez - no question about it in my mind.

“Canelo is the best of his generation and he and Chavez fought at different weights but he’s certainly, in my mind, belongs in the same category of greatness as Chavez does.”
