Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has labelled FIFA president Sepp Blatter "idiotic" and "out of touch" for his comments about racism.

Blatter has come under fire over the past three days after claiming in two television interviews that racism on the pitch could be settled with a post-match handshake. The 75-year-old Swiss attempted to draw a line under the controversy on Friday by issuing an apology, but insisted he would not resign.

Redknapp said in The Sun: "Of course what he has said is idiotic and he is clearly out of touch with reality."
