Football Manager 2022: Every Championship transfer budget

Football Manager 2022 Xbox Game Pass PC/Mac (@FootballManager)

Football Manager 2022’s beta is out now ahead of the game’s full release on PC, Mac, and Xbox Game Pass.

Players who have pre-ordered the game can play the beta up until the ninth, and those saves carry over into the full game.

One of the best things about the new game is finding out just how much money your team has at the start of the save.

Of course, we’ve written before about the fact that Newcastle have been handed the biggest budget in the game, at £200m, while Manchester City have £100m.

In the Championship, though, there simply isn’t that much money swilling around.

The highest budget in the second-tier stands at £2.5m but you’ll have to scroll down to see just how much each club has.

AFC Bournemouth - £0
Barnsley - £400,000
Birmingham City - £1m
Blackburn Rovers - £100,000
Blackpool - £200,000
Bristol City - £1m
Cardiff City - £500,000
Coventry City - £0
Derby County - £0
Fulham - £2m
Luton Town - £50,000
Middlesbrough - £2.5m
Millwall - £0
Huddersfield Town - £0
Nottingham Forest - £2.5m
Preston North End - £800,000
QPR - £1m
Reading - £0
Peterborough United - £1.5m
Sheffield United - £1m
Stoke City - £0
Swansea City - £1m
Hull City - £600,000
West Bromwich Albion - £2.5m

As you can see above, there just isn’t all that much money.

There are seven clubs in the Championship with literally nothing to spend, while there are seven more with a budget under £1m.

That leaves 10 clubs with either £1m or more, and the highest budget comes with West Brom, who dropped into the Championship from the Premier League last season.

There are a few real challenges here, so managing in the second-tier might be a real blast this season.

Especially if you're ready to start with absolutely nothing to spend, but with a historic club, like Stoke or Derby.

Of course, the latter have a hefty points deduction and are approaching financial ruin. Talk about a save and a half!
