BT Sport's hit TV show and women's football competition Ultimate Goal is returning for a second series this November.A total of 16 aspiring footballers will push themselves to new limits as they learn to train, play and think like a real professional. The untapped young women will showcase their skills and learn under the star-studded panel of head coaches, including former England internationals Eni Aluko and Rachel Brown-Finnis.Alongside the ex-Lionesses will be sisters Rosie and Mollie Kmita — who have both enjoyed careers in football and presenting.A pool of 26 participants took part in the initial stages of the show and now viewers will get to watch the final 16 prove their worth as they vie to become the next big women's football star.Aluko, who enjoyed a decorated career on both the domestic and international stage, believes this season of Ultimate Goal could provide exactly that.

"I'm very excited — it's nice to be working with a new group of players," the former Chelsea forward told GiveMeSport Women. "They all have different journeys, different backgrounds, different stories, and have come through different pathways to get here.

"I think the level has gone up again for the series — there's players who I'm already thinking could definitely play at Championship and WSL level. And that's what we're here for, we're here to put players in the position to get into the professional game and it's definitely looking more likely this series round."

The six-part reality competition will see the players take on intense training regimes and seek advice from some of the biggest names in the sport.

Last season, Rio Ferdinand delivered a defensive masterclass to the players as they looked to catch the eye of the coaches in the early stages of the show.

The level of talent will be even higher this time, so the participants must bring their A game if they want to win over the panel.

While the nature of the competition is to see the best player win, Ultimate Goal is also about creating a safe space for women in football and giving them a second chance at pursuing a career in the sport they love.

Eni Aluko

"I signed up to this project because of the purpose of it," Aluko explained. "Obviously it's a TV show but I think the purpose for me is to give girls and young women the opportunity to get into the professional game.

"We want to give them a platform to be seen, to realise that they shouldn't give up and help give them the confidence to realise their dreams. That's why I'm in it — I connect with that.

"My journey was very much up until very late. I didn't become a pro at Chelsea until I was 25. I understand how difficult it is to get into the professional game and I'm happy to do another series and to help make that a reality for a new group of players."

Ultimate Goal series two premieres on BT Sport 3 on Tuesday 2nd November at 10.15pm, with episodes airing over the next five weeks on Tuesdays on BT Sport. All six episodes from series two will be available to watch via the BT Sport App from Wednesday 3rd November.
