Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge has described Joe Rodon's current situation at Spurs as strange amid his lack of game-time this season.
Rodon was signed by Jose Mourinho for £11m last October but has seen his opportunities limited under both the Portuguese manager and then Nuno Espirito Santo.
What's the latest news with Rodon?
With Tottenham chasing Milan Skriniar for the majority of last summer, bringing in the Welshman never appeared a priority and perhaps his lack of minutes on the pitch have echoed that.
Even with Spurs conceding goals on a regular basis under Mourinho last season and Nuno this term, Rodon has always been behind Toby Alderweireld, Eric Dier, Davinson Sanchez and now Cristian Romero in the pecking order.

Rodon's only league outing this season was as an early substitute at Crystal Palace and although Tottenham were beaten 3-0, the 24-year-old did himself justice and could have done little to prevent any of the three goals that were scored past Hugo Lloris.
But the centre-back didn't do enough to earn a place in the starting XI against Chelsea the following week and has since been an unused substitute five times in six matches, the exception being when he was left out entirely against Newcastle.
Furthermore, Rodon, 6ft4, hasn't even started the two Carabao Cup games this season, playing just one minute out of a possible 180 against Burnley and then Wolves.
He has started three games, all of which came in the Europa Conference League and his fortunes don't appear likely to change any time soon, although the Wales international will be hoping that whoever replaces Nuno will give him opportunities.

Since signing for Tottenham, Rodon has continued to start regularly for his country and Bridge reckons that it's bizarre that he hasn't played more.
What did Bridge say?
He told GIVEMESPORT: "It's a strange one, because he's barely played for Tottenham, has he?
"He's one of quite a few Spurs players that are playing more for their country than they are for their club. You got the impression that Nuno wouldn't have him as first-choice."
When might Rodon get his chance?
Judging by the fact he's played 78 minutes in the Premier League this season, Rodon will surely be one Spurs player happy that Nuno has been sacked.
It felt like whatever mistakes his first-choice centre-backs made and however Rodon performed in other competitions, he wasn't willing to play him in the league.
There's by no means any guarantee that Nuno's replacement will warm to the defender, but he should at least give him a chance to show what he can do.
