Edge has revealed that he was initially quite hesitant to travel over to Saudi Arabia with WWE for Crown Jewel last month.

Edge and Seth Rollins finished off their rivalry inside Hell in a Cell at Crown Jewel on October 21, but Edge initially wasn't best pleased about blowing off the feud in Saudi Arabia.

Speaking to The Kids on the Escalator podcast, Edge explained that he "wasn't too keen" on travelling over to Saudi Arabia, but saw the opportunity to make a change.

The WWE Hall of Famer said that he wanted Jessika Carr to referee the match, meaning she'd become the first woman to referee a match in Saudi Arabia:

When they asked me about blowing off the story in Saudi Arabia, I wasn’t too keen on going, I’ll be honest, but as we talked and they said ‘we need it there,’ I said, ‘Lets get Jess to ref there,’ not knowing if we’d be able to. I just loved the idea of a woman being in control of two men in that country. If it flew over a lot of heads, whatever, but for me, I can come back to my girls one day and tell them ‘I went over there.’ I think we did something cool. She was right there for everything, not overwhelmed by the moment, and stood up to the challenge. It was really cool to see.

Edge has not appeared on WWE TV since his match in Saudi Arabia with Seth Rollins, and there is no word on when he's going to be returning.
